An der Baustelle Concrete milling Essen

In Essen at the Bäckerstraße a new reinforced concrete pavement over 500 m² had been set too high. Since this required correction, the Senft company got the order to carry out the concrete milling. Within one day the works were completed. The pictures show how accurately and carefully the B25 concrete was milled off. The client was very surprised that the works were finished within a single day.

Since very high standards prevail at the airport, only qualified and safety examined mechanics are allowed to work there. As Senft GmbH disposes of all the necessary admissions and safety test certificates, we were chosen to carry out this building project.

120 reinforced concrete girders were disjointed and dismantled by means of a wire saw. Here a wire saw was used for the sawing of reinforced concrete girders in the smallest possible space. The cross-cuts had cross sections of 0.90 x 0.85 m and a very high proportion of steel.

In Dortmund we dismantled and disposed of 8,000 m² roof covering composed of asbestos cement slabs in cooperation with a roofing company. Approx. 500 m² were cleared up per day and covered with new material. The discounters located underneath the roof remained open for the customers without restriction.

In Hamburg a 4 floors high air-raid shelter was converted into a residential and office building. We received the order for the concrete sawing works. Our task was to form openings in reinforced concrete walls in the dimensions 2.50 m x 3.50 up to 4.50 m x 5.00 m. The wall thicknesses were 1.10 m up to 1.20 m.

In an enterprise in Neuss 490 m² of an approx. 20 cm thick intermediate ceiling built of reinforced concrete were sawed up, dismantled and disposed of. In addition we dismantled 1,800 m² plasterboard partitions including insulation. Furthermore we removed 600 m² carpeted floor and hereafter ground all glue and carpet residues over the entire surface down to the concrete floor.

9 floors of a stair tower built of reinforced concrete and part of the thermal power station, 37.80 m high, with a cross-cut of 5.70 m x 3.50 m and a wall thickness of 30 cm, were sawed off from inside by using a special procedure. Sawing works without using scaffolds, completely from inside, dust-free and free of vibrations.

In Dortmund at Stockumer Straße asbestos removal works were executed on top of a club house, approx. 280 m² asbestos panels were removed in cooperation with our roofer. Due to the weather conditions approx. 150 m² were cleared up and newly covered straight away. Also here again the wrapping of the contaminated material was disposed of in the standardized way.

Wire sawing works in the St. Johannes Hospital in Duisburg. Here foundations with a size of 1.80 m / 1.30 up to 2.20 / 1.80 m were cut by means of wire sawing (in order to avoid noise caused by large scale facilities during stemming operations). The time needed for cutting the approx. 35 m² surface was 2.5 days.

The customer received all services from a single source, e. g. the erection of scaffolds over 3,500 m², the dismantling and disposal etc. The building project was subdivided into 3 construction stages to the effect that the new thermal insulated facade could be mounted again rapidly.

Here a brake test rig was rebuilt. The task set was to saw out and dispose of approx. 92 m² reinforced concrete (230 t) down to a depth of 3.00 m within 4 days. We worked in 3 shifts and thus adhered to the time schedule. After that a surface of approx. 3,500 m² reinforced concrete was dismantled down to a depth of 35 cm and removed. The whole coordination was in our hands.

Residential complex in Osnabrück
120 balconies with a weight of 5.40 t each were professionally dismantled and disposed of using a merlo resp. a 100-tonne truck crane.
Furthermore 18 reinforced concrete canopies were dismantled, 1,000 linear metres fascia built of precast reinforced concrete units as well as 800 m² asbestos cement slabs were dismantled and also professionally disposed of.

At the Dorint Hotel in Cologne we demolished the swimming pool on the first floor under regular business and disposed thereof. The pool was situated directly above the lobby at the entrance. Execution of demolition, concrete drilling and sawing works to the bridges of the Metro business group. Special task to be carried out in the outside area. Within one day 4 balconies of 12 m length and 1.40 m width were sawn off and dismantled by means of a 100-tonne crane (up to a height of 17.90 m). In the entrance area the reinforced concrete portal with a weight of 100 t was professionally dismantled (sawed off and dismounted) within one day.

The complete shaft cover with a thickness of 0.67 m was horizontally cut off from a 12 m deep shaft with a 8.80 m Ø by means of a wire saw. The shaft cover was sawn up into 4 parts of 4.6 t each and dismantled using a truck-mounted crane. The wire saw was used because the shaft walls had a thickness of up to 0.90 m. The works were carried out within two days.

Here an underpass of the DB AG in Essen was cut off over the whole cross-section by means of a wire saw. The width of the masonry was 1.25 m, the concrete slab had a width of 30 cm.

A major order to cut the fitting pieces of cast iron pipes DN 2,000 mm, wall thickness 22.5 mm cast, 9 mm cement lining and external insulation. The pipes had to be cut 100 % straight and at right angles. After that a 45° phase was applied to the cutting edge. Each day 5 pipes were completely processed. 130 fitting pieces were cut. The pipes weighed 13 tonnes each.

Here a hall inside a hall was dismantled, its size was 15 x 10 m, its height approx. 8 m. The concrete slab was 35 cm thick. The whole hall had to be dismantled vibration-free and had to be disposed of. For these works we needed 5 working days and 4 skilled workers. Here two openings were cut into a concrete slab using an electric joint cutter. Corner holes were formed to avoid overcuts. The dimensions of the openings were 1.55 x 1.55 m with a slab thickness of 25 cm. Including all subsidiary tasks such as disposal and cleaning of the building site the works were carried out within eight working hours.

Demolition of foundations in front of an ancient listed facade, wire sawing technique

Here 8 foundations weighing 35 t each were dismantled in front of the listed facade of an office building in Düsseldorf. The coordination was undertaken by us, these giant foundations could be loaded by us only during the night by means of heavy equipment. Several streets in Düsseldorf had to be closed,that is why the removal coulld be effected only during a night shift. The foundations were removed by us using the wire saw technique. We chose this technique because there were very strong reinforcement rods with diameters of 50 mm in the columns. The foundations had served to protect a 20 floor high building while this was being constructed.

Extensive concrete drilling and sawing works as well as concrete demolition works were executed.
A ramp made of reinforced concrete was sawn free at the lateral connections and hydraulically blasted asunder. The size of the ramp was 5.95 x 5.35 m up to a concrete thickness of 0.95 m. It took 3 days to do this and 3 skilled workers were needed to carry out these works incl. the removal of material from the second lower ground floor as well as 20 m³ soil.
The complete reinforcement over a surface of 20 m² and down to a depth of 0.30 m was exposed. Furthermore reinforced concrete and masonry were manually dismantled due to lack of space needed for big construction machinery.

Concrete cutting by means of an electric joint cutter. Here an action was performed which had to be completed within 2 days and 2 nights on a Saturday and a Sunday.
280 m² floor slabs with a thickness of 0.25 m were removed and disposed of. Due to emissions everything had to be sawn out very neatly, 290 linear metres saw cut and also 125 carottages were carried out, additionally 18 m³ reinforced concrete walls located underneath the floor slabs were sawn out and disposed of.

Here we received a new order requiring that we should drill approx. 10,000 core holes in tubbing segments of the tunnel, DN = 35 mm down to a depth of approx. 200 mm. Later on we built in shear force pins which had to be precisely aligned, they would then be used for the suspension of the impact wall which would be concreted on the completion of our works.

In the run-up to this project first of all approx. 15,000 m² corrugated foil were mounted and adjusted to the tubbing wall up to a height of 4.5 m, the foils had to be applied exactly against the tubbing wall.

Moreover concrete sawing works and drilling works were still carried out in the course of the tunnel construction works.

20,000 core holes in the Weser Tunnel

On 19.01.03 the Wesel Tunnel at Dedesdorf near Bremerhaven was opened by Mr Manfred Stolpe, then Federal Minister of Transport. .

Our order was worth approx. 300,000.- €. Approx. 20,000 core holes, dia. = 32 mm, had to be drilled in the tunnel walls for the mounting of impact walls. Subsequently the approx. 20,000 shear force pins were glued into these carottage openings. The tensile testings required were carried out under our direction as well.

Moreover we installed 25,000 m² special corrugated foil on the tubular walls in an elaborate way (to ensure the evacuation of the condensation water along the tunnel walls.)

Break-through in a 32 cm thick reinforced concrete wall, the size of the opening was 6.50 m x 3.50 m x 0.32 m. These works took 2 days incl. the removal of 17.5 t and the disposal thereof. Here it was not possible to use a conventional mortising machine since the adjacent shops and medical pratices were kept in full operation. The works were carried out to the great satisfaction of the client.
